Its repertoire features the music made popular by big bands such as Tommy Dorsey, Glenn Miller, Harry James, Duke Ellington and Count Basie. For the concert on Tuesday, the jazz orchestra will play a medley of songs by Henry Mancini with Charlie Moresi featured on "Time After Time," Jeff Moresi on "How Deep Is The Ocean," and Hamilton on "A Foggy Day in London Town. And one more who brought his small band to my college when I was a freshmen, and Sylvia and I danced to his Snowfall theme and dozens of other popular songs from the 50s Claude Thornhill. Meanwhile, Helen Forrest made classic recordings with three of the best big bands around: Artie Shaw, Benny Goodman and Harry James. Still, just because I have no particular affection for Frank Sinatra's recordings doesn't mean he wasn't a great singer, or that I don't know he was a great singer.
