Singer Joe Bagale draws on eclectic influences Oct 5, 2009
A natural talent who began making music at an early age, Bagale led his first garage band at 12, singing and playing tunes by the Beatles, Jimi Hendrix and the Allman Brothers (he wanted to sing like Greg Allman and Ray Charles). In high school, he set his sights on becoming a great jazz drummer, studying at his father's suggestion with Basie band drummer Rich Thompson, with whom he continued to study at the prestigious Eastman School of Music in Rochester.
