A STUDY has debunked the theory that Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was poisoned by his rival Antonio Salieri, suggesting the composer was killed by the complications of a strep infection. Mozart died during a minor epidemic of streptococcus that probably originated in a military hospital in 18th-century Vienna, according to research published in the Annals of Internal Medicine. Abraham - who won an Oscar for his powerful performance as Antonio Salieri in Amadeus - will be at Tanglewood Wednesday in Stage Music in the Plays of William Shakespeare.
